Caregiver Giving Campaign

Four caregivers holding thank you signs

Each year, we come together as People of Providence to connect with the mission by donating to Providence St. Mary Foundation at any level that is personally meaningful. Caregivers can direct their gift to their area of passion. There is no dollar goal, just a call to participate. Together, we create a powerful message - we not only work at Providence, we invest in our St. Mary family and the community we serve.

"I have seen firsthand how a gift of any size directly impacts the most vulnerable patients we serve." - Population Health Caregiver

Every dollar stays local, making a difference for patients in the funding area that matters the most to you.

Honor Your Caregiver

A chance to say thank you.

Is there a Providence St. Mary staff member you'd like to thank?

A gift of appreciation for the care you or a loved one received is a gift of inspiration - for the doctor, nurse, therapist or staff member who took care of you.

Honor a caregiver with a gift of any size to Providence St. Mary Foundation. Caregivers will be notified that a gift was made in their honor and receive special recognition along with your message of gratitude when your gift is received.

Stocks & Bonds

A gift through appreciated stocks and bonds (also referred to as securities) generally provides a greater tax benefit to the donor than a gift of cash. This is because the donor can avoid paying capital gains tax on appreciated securities.

A charitable tax deduction of the fair market value is allowed against your taxable income for up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. Any excess qualified contribution is carried forward to future years with a 5-year carry-forward.

You can rally your family, friends, co-workers and community to touch the lives of our patients and families.

Fundraisers can include things like fun runs, auctions and dinner parties or to honor a birthday, anniversary or other important milestone.

Volunteer Opportunities

Hundreds of caring individuals volunteer thousands of hours to carry out our vision statement of "Know me. Care for me. Ease my way." As a non-profit hospital, we rely on the service of volunteers to provide compassionate service to patients and visitors with a personal touch.

Providence offers many diverse service opportunities throughout our hospital and clinics for adults. We're also committed to inspiring young learners through a dynamic service-learning program for students each summer.

Many of our volunteers have given 20 years of service to St. Mary. Examples of volunteer opportunities include comfort rounding (social interactions with patients), supporting patients in the Cancer Center, volunteering in the gift shop or supporting our caregivers and/or patients in specific hospital departments.  Any special skills or talents are welcome and Volunteer Services is happy to consider new volunteer positions.

A background check and basic health screening is required.  Volunteers must complete a two-hour orientation before starting at the hospital and will also complete departmental training once placed in a position. Required skills include confidentiality, collaboration, reliability and effective communication skills.

Groups who are able to come on a regular basis or help once with a big project are also welcome.
