Community brings state-of-the-art cardiac care to Walla Walla Valley

Thanks to you, a premier cardiac catheterization laboratory debuted at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. Patients treated in the specialized facility – commonly known as a cath lab – receive comprehensive heart care, including evaluation of heart disease and heart muscle function, repairs to congenital heart defects and procedures that improve blood flow.
Donors contributed $1 million to build the new cardiac cath lab at Providence St. Mary Medical Center, helping cover the costs of fully renovating the cardiac care procedure room and updating the imaging equipment to the most advanced technology available today. This includes important mapping of the heart and its pathways.
Construction on the new facility began earlier in 2025, and a state-of-the-art cath lab opened months later. Careful planning and an on-site mobile unit meant local patients always had continuous care throughout the remodel.
Increasing demand for minimally invasive cardiac services had strained local access since Providence St. Mary has the only cath lab in Walla Walla and serves patients across eight counties. Now, your support means we can serve more people, and more hearts can be healed close to home.
