Emergency and Critical Care
Investing to enhance our emergency and critical care facilities will help Providence keep pace with our community needs, providing the best care to all those who choose Providence for care.
Bring faster, even better care to more people
With the population in Oregon growing, the need for more emergency department beds and critical care beds has become increasingly important to meet the needs of our patients. Additional equipment and updated, flexible floor plans would enable nurses and doctors to provide even better care.
Investments in our emergency and critical care units will ensure excellent medical care is available when you or your neighbor need it.
New equipment
New patient monitors will ensure seamless care and automatic monitoring of patients wherever they are in the facility. Exterior utility hook-ups will allow expanded capacity in case of a natural or manmade disaster or another pandemic.
Friendlier and flexible spaces
Treatment spaces will be made uniform, so caregivers will find tools and supplies in the same place in every room. Senior-friendly designs will make the emergency department easier for seniors and their loved ones to navigate, and a large flexible care zone will better serve pediatric patients and patients experiencing behavioral health challenges.
Additional rooms
Adding rooms and revamping some current rooms will allow more patients to receive care while also reducing wait times.
