Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children
Providence Portland Medical Foundation
The Center for Medically Fragile Children provides round-the-clock care for children with profound and complex medical needs. The Center is the only one in the Pacific Northwest.
Compassionate care improves lives of children
The Center for Medically Fragile Children is the only pediatric skilled nursing facility in the Pacific Northwest. We provide compassionate 24-hour long-term, short stay, respite, sub-acute and end-of-life care for children and young people with profound disabilities and complex medical needs ranging in age from infancy to 21 years. This includes medical, dental, therapies and enrichment activities.
Closing the gap for compassionate care
Increased operating support would allow us to continue serving every child who needs our care, regardless of public reimbursements through Medicaid or families’ ability to pay.
Respite care for families
Respite care for medically fragile children may be needed for a variety of reasons, such as illness, birth of a sibling, moving or vacation. During a major transition, or specialized medical management, our respite services provide relief and support.
Therapies and enrichment activities
Therapeutic recreation helps improve or maintain physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual functioning in order to facilitate full participation in life.
