Helping the Vulnerable

The behavioral health programs at Providence Portland Medical Center supports programs or services benefiting those who experience mental illness, substance abuse or domestic violence. By connecting patients with emergency housing, transportation, food, hygiene kits and other essentials, we can support them on a path toward better health.

By caring for the whole person, we can reduce the reluctance many patients have when seeking help for their behavioral health needs. Behavioral health is more than mental health. It includes the treatment of mental illnesses as well as emotional well-being, domestic violence, substance abuse and other addictive behaviors.  At Providence, we are integrating behavioral health care into the primary care setting.
