Providence Hood to Coast raises $650,000 for cancer research
Nearly 20,000 runners and walkers in the 40th year of Providence Hood to Coast Relay raised more than $650,000 to support cancer research at Providence Cancer Institute. Community support of this event helps Providence scientists discover new innovations in treating cancer.
The Providence Hood & Portland To Coast Relays is the most popular and largest running and walking relay race in the world, drawing participants every year from over 40 countries and all 50 states.
Among the teams this year was the Providence Cancer Crushers – an annual team of dedicated Providence cancer researchers, doctors, nurses, patients and others. This year’s team included cancer survivor Becky Roth, featured speaker at the 2018 Creating Hope event, as well as Heidi Jendro, a cancer survivor and Providence caregiver.
Providence Hood to Coast fundraising teams have raised more than $6 million for cancer research since 2013. Thank you to our runners, walkers, support teams and community members – your support truly makes a difference to patients with cancer and their families.
A huge thank you goes to the 2022 Providence Hood to Coast teams sponsors.
