Level II Trauma Center and Emergency Department
At Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital
Your support ensures life-saving emergency care, close to home.
Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is a regional medical center that treats critically-ill patients. Our acuity index, as measured by the complexity of cases, ranks us among the top medical centers in California (alongside Cedars Sinai, Stanford, Eisenhower Hospital, and UCSF). Memorial is the only hospital in the North Coast region with the level of skill and expertise to be designated as a Level II Trauma Center.
Memorial's Emergency Department treats more than 45,000 patients a year, averaging 130 patient visits per day. Of these, approximately 2,000 arrive with traumatic, life-threatening injuries and are treated by our expert trauma team. If you or a loved one sustain a traumatic injury, you will be transferred to Memorial, regardless of where you normally receive your medical care.
Your gift ensures that emergency and trauma services are available when and where you need them.
Regional Level II Trauma Center
In 2014 a major expansion and modernization of our Emergency Department and Trauma Center was completed. Generous donors gave over $14 million towards this important community project, resulting in a capacity expansion and upgrade in patient experience. Every year generous supporters invest in leading-edge technology needed to maintain the exceptional level of care available here, close to home. Our trauma department has saved the lives of thousands of North Coast residents and visitors.
People come to our Emergency Department to receive care for serious, life-threatening conditions ranging from a gallbladder attack to a broken arm. Philanthropy ensures that everyone in our community has access to life-saving and exceptional emergency care. Most recently, generous donors helped address the nationwide PPE shortage and funded urgently-needed ventilators and emergency department gurneys.
Heart Attack & Stroke
We treat over 80% of the region’s emergency heart attack patients and nearly 500 stroke patients each year. Donor giving supports the collaboration between the Emergency Department & Trauma Center and the adjacent Norma and Evert Person Heart & Vascular Institute. Philanthropy makes the difference between a good community hospital and a great regional medical center.
