A New and Refreshed Look

Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital was founded in 1957. With 35 licensed beds and a service area covering Humboldt and neighboring counties, it is a vital part of Providence in Humboldt’s healthcare delivery system.

This major renovation project will bring a fresh and modern care environment to MedSurg, Short Stay, and other patient care areas in the hospital. Plans include refurbishment of patient rooms, corridors, and the chapel, with new surfaces, lighting upgrades, new fixtures, stone accents, plush upholstery, and more.

Redwood Memorial is at the heart of the Eel River Valley community and we take great pride in our facility. Your contribution to this effort will help that pride shine and support our hardworking caregivers by enhancing their surroundings and beautifying the hospital for the patients and families they serve.

Our Impact

A key service of this critical access hospital is the 15-bed Medical-Surgical Services Unit, known as MedSurg.

MedSurg nurses and staff care for patients with a variety of needs, from recovery after surgery to regaining strength and wellness after a stay in the ICU.

“Working in MedSurg means being part of a team of healthcare professionals who treat each other and our patients like family,” said veteran nurse Marie Adams, who started working at RMH in 1977 as a nurse aide and has been a MedSurg RN for more than 40 years.
