Emergency and Surgical Services
Petaluma Valley Hospital Foundation
Health Care, Close to Home
When time is of the essence…when an emergency strikes… when your baby is being born... when surgery is the surest path toward healing. Petaluma Valley Hospital is here for our community with the medical personnel, facilities, and equipment needed to respond to trauma, promote healing and tend to our patients' well-being.
Thanks to our generous donors, our Emergency Department is able to offer patients some of the most recent advancements in treatment and care. Recent acquisitions include a Stryker Surgical Tower to maximize efficiencies and outcomes in the operating room and Accuvein devices to improve access for IVs, blood draws and injections.
The hospital needs your help to continue improving the patient experience at PVH. You can invest in a healthy future for our emergency and surgical patients, and we thank you for your partnership.

Our Impact
Your generous support has allowed PVH to meet the changing needs of all who make their home here in south Sonoma County, including our most vulnerable neighbors.
Heart Attack & Stroke Care
Our emergency team is trained trained to handle life-threatening events like cardiac arrest and stroke. In 2017, PVH became the first hospital in California to earn Advance Disease-Specific Care Certification for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital from the Joint Commission and the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association.
Surgical and Emergency Equipment
Your support has provided our surgical and emergency services teams with equipment which helps them provide excellent, responsive treatment to seriously ill patients. These include: a new surgical tower, ventilators, surgical screwdrivers, a glidescope to assist with intubation, an intra-hospital transport and bedside monitor for the ICU, new gurneys for the ED and a Baxter Starling Fluid Management Monitoring System.
State-of-the-Art Imaging
Thanks to support from generous donors, our patients have access to some of the latest imaging equipment including a 3-D tomosynthesis mammogram machine, ultrasounds and a state-of-the-art surgical C-Arm. We anticipate adding a new Computerized Tomography (CT) within the year.

Fetal Heart Rate Monitors
Goal: $40,000During late pregnancy and during labor, it is sometimes important to monitor the fetal heart rate, measure contractions, rate, intensity as well as other functions. Fetal heart rate monitoring is a method of checking the rate, rhythm, and the presence or absence of accelerations (increases) or decelerations (decreases) of the fetal heartbeat. This monitoring is extremely important if the fetus is not getting enough oxygen or there are other problems indicating that an emergency cesarean delivery is needed. -
Point-of-Care Ultrasound
Goal: $58,400The FujiFilm Sonosite Point-of-Care Ultrasound offers advanced image clarity for confidence when treating and diagnosing patients. The new interface combines touch and physical controls for improved efficiency, while the adaptable horizontal-to-vertical work surface allows for optimal bedside ergonomics.
