Your Mind Needs Care Too
Mental and behavioral health challenges are as real and debilitating as a cancer diagnosis or a life-threatening injury. Left untreated, they can cause a lifetime of unnecessary pain and suffering. It can be experienced by anyone no matter who you are, where you came from, what age you are, what livelihood you pursue, or how much money you have in the bank. Your mind is a part of your body too and needs attention and care to keep healthy.
Unfortunately, Alaska ranks high in several ways that can increase the likelihood of life challenges that affect mental health such as abuse, neglect, and substance use.
Providing service to support the healing from trauma and caring for the mind has never been more important, especially as we continue to face a global pandemic affecting our lives every day.
